Four majolica begonia leaf plates

450.00

This mixed collection of four plates (three green, one ochre) exemplify the Victorian-era fascination with the natural world. The plates bear signs of use commensurate with their age, including a few chips and slightly nibbled rims. No cracks or restoration. Unmarked, as is typical of much 19th-century British pottery, but with the usual kiln and stilt marks on the reverse. Probably English, c. 1880s.

Each approximately 8.5 inches in diameter
