Group of five small Imari plates

125.00

Though petit, these five little transferware plates pack a mighty design punch with their sepia Rococo-style floral pattern embellished with black and orange enamel over-painting or clobbering. They are unmarked but done in the style of Coalport’s Imari patterns, which were popular during the early 19th century. Their dainty size makes them perfect for small bites or display. Some nibbling to the gilded rims, appropriate to their age. Probably English, c. 1820s.

6 ¼  to 6 ½ inches in diameter
